Welcome to Wednesday's card. If you missed out on Monday's card, make sure you check it out. For this week's card series, I am using the Shooting Star Bundle from the 2016-17 Stampin' Up! Annual Catalog.
You can't help but fall in love with the bees and the bee hive from this stamp set! The Shooting Star Framelits make this card super easy!
Let's talk about the background first. I knew that I wanted contrasting patterns on the card layer and on the inside circle. In order to achieve that look, I mounted a piece of the Daffodil Delight Designer Series Paper on one side of a piece of Basic Black and the black and white strip from the Pop of Pink Designer Series Paper on the other.
I stamped all the images and the sentiment from the Places You'll Go stamp set using Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I colored the beehive image using my Crushed Curry Stampin' Write Marker and the bees were colored using the Daffodil Delight and Basic Black marker.
I added some of the small bees with Mini Glue Dots and a couple with Stampin' Dimensionals! Of course I had to add our White Perfect Accents that I colored with a Sharpie. Wink of Stella on the wings was the finishing touch!
