I am back today with project #2 in my Jar of Love card series. Today's inspiration is from Sketch #3 from Paper and Ink Sketches! Don't forget to link up your card using the link up button down below for your chance to win!
This card is rather simplistic in design, but I think it turned out very pretty. I also think it's a card that can serve as a thank you, birthday or even sympathy card. I chose to leave the sentiment off because I wanted to add it as needed.
I started by using Sketch #3's measurements to create my card base. I used Real Red, Early Espresso Whisper White, and the Brights Designer Series Paper from Stampin' Up! for my card base and layers.
I am in love with this color combination. I can't remember using these colors together, but you will be seeing them from me again in the future.
The stamping for this card was simple. I used Sahara Sand ink to stamp the largest jar from the Jar of Love stamp set from Stampin' Up! I did not want to introduce a different color family and this reminds me of jars that have been around for years and years. My Nana had some like that in her kitchen!
I used the branch stamp and Early Espresso ink for the vase filler. I wanted a more rustic look....which is not a look I normally gravitate towards, but I love it here.
Oh and you know when there's ribbon involved you are probably going to see the Bow Builder Punch from Stampin' Up! I love it. I haven't had a chance to pick up the Real Red Stitched Satin Ribbon and I used the next best thing! If you can't invest in a lot of ribbon, get this punch. You can literally have any color or pattern that you own!
Now, on to the sketches. Just like last month, there is a sketch with measurements and one without. All you need to do is right click on the image and save or print!
