I am so stinkin excited for this week's stamp set! I will be making 3 card using the This Little Piggy stamp set from the 2017-2018 Stampin' Up! Annual Catalog. This set is so adorable and I am in love!!
I love the flying pig image and I knew that I wanted to pair that with the new Pattern Party Decorative Mask and the Embossing Paste. Let me show you how to create a really cute, cloud background!
I started this card with a Smoky Slate card base that measures 4 1/4 x 11 and it was scored at 5 1/2. The inside layer is of course Whisper White and it measures 4 x 5 1/4. The Soft Sky layer measures the same.
I used a grid mat to protect my surface and a piece of washi tape to tape down the blue card stock. Next, I laid the mask on top and lined it up where I knew I wanted the clouds. I used the Embossing Paste and a Palette Knife to spread it on the card stock through the mask. *This steps is much clearer when you watch the video linked below.*
As the background dried, I stamped the little pig image onto the stitched circle. I used the largest circle from the Stitched Shape Framelits and the largest scalloped circle from the Layering Circle Framelits for my focal pieces. After stamping the pig, I added the happy birthday sentiment from the Happy Birthday Gorgeous and colored the pig image using the Powder Pink and Smoky Slate Stampin' Write Markers.
Once the background was dry, I added the Powder Pink 1/2" Finely Woven Ribbon and used Stampin' Dimensionals to add it to the card base. I also adhered the focal panel with dimensionals! I tied a bow and adhered it with glue dots.
