Today I have an unique Christmas card idea. When I first saw the Pretty Kitty stamp set from Stampin' Up! I knew I wanted to make the image with the twine into Christmas lights!
Of course, it wouldn't be a holiday card series from me without a purple and aqua combo. I love Perfect Plum and Pool Party paired together. I know that combination doesn't scream Christmas to most people.....but I'm not like most people! Those of you who have been following me for a while know that I have a tree that's decorated with purple and silver and I have several rooms in my house that has a purple and aqua color palette!
Here's a card I did last year! I loved how it turned out.
For this card, I wanted to use the new Sliding Star framelits from Stampin' Up! to create a spinner card.
I used the Pool Party background paper from the Subtles Designer Series Paper Stack. I love this polka dot print and it makes a great background when not using traditional holiday papers. I attached the layer to a piece of Perfect Plum and then used the circle from the Sliding Star framelits to cut out the center.
I cut off the ball of twine from this image and used my Perfect Plum Stampin' Write Marker to add lights to the image. Didn't she turn out so cute! In hindsight, I do think I should have left a bigger border around the image when cutting it out.
With this die, creating the spinner part is super easy. Take two pennies and sandwich a small piece of a dimensional between the two. Slip the bottom penny under the middle circle and the top penny will sit on the top of the circle. Add your image with dimensionals and you're all set!
