Stampin' Up! Party Wishes and Party Pants Black Emboss Resist

Hi everyone,

I saw Jennifer McGuire and Gina K do this technique and I knew I wanted to try it.  Like all of my creations, there's a little bit of mess, but I love how it turned out in the end :)

I started with the Party Wishes and the Party Pants stamp sets from Stampin' Up! Don't forget that Party Pants is a sale-a-bration exclusive and it ends March 31st!  Anywho, I started by stamping the balloon image in Versa Mark and then directly into the Daffodil Delight ink.  Once stamped, I used covered the image in clear embossing powder.  I repeated the same steps for the other balloon and the cake image.  This give you colored embossing when you do not have colored powder :)

After stamping and adding embossing powder, I used my heat tool from Stampin' Up! to melt the powder and this is where the fun comes in :)

Once the embossed images are cooled, use a black Stampin' Write marker and color the entire image panel with black ink.  I know it sounds crazy, but the embossed sections resist the ink.  Just take a slightly damp towel and remove the ink from the images.

I used a Versa Marker to add the tails and embossed using white embossing powder.  I then added White Perfect Accents, used the It's My Party Designer Series Paper for a mat and the Stitched Black Satin Ribbon to complete the card base. I added a cute candle from the Party Wishes Bundle.

It's something different and fun and I hope you enjoyed!  As always, you can watch the video here or over at youtube.  The supplies are listed down below!

Thanks for stopping by!
